Waterproofing and Caulking Applicator

Knox Glass Company of OKC is looking for an experienced Waterproofing and Caulking Applicator to join our team in Oklahoma City. We are looking for a self-starter/ team player who will maintain quality standards and train others. Examples of our Joint Sealant work include: installing caulking in expansion, contraction, and control joints, window and door frames interior and exterior, door frames to masonry, windows to masonry, louvers to masonry, coping joints, concrete paving joints, saw cuts, EIFS and hardcoat stucco joints utilizing silicone, urethane, and acrylic based sealants. Waterproofing and sealing commercial storefronts, windows and curtain walls.

What you need for this position:

• A minimum of five (2) years Industry experience caulking / waterproofing / butt joints / air barrier / expansion joints / tuck pointing experience in a commercial setting with attention to appearance detail
• Familiar with backer rod types and sizes; including knowledge of the difference between bulk, sausage, tubes and application of 2-part sealants
• Extensive background with caulking gun and other basic hand tools
• Boom/scissor lift experience (lift certification preferred)
• Working knowledge of field practices, procedures and concepts, and current knowledge of building codes
• Knowledge of reading blue prints as well as architectural and structural drawings, including specific construction details
• Ability to inspect joints to make sure they are sound
• Comfortable working at various heights on man lifts and/or swing stages.
• Able to load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications as needed.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Sufficient reading, writing and math skills
• Listening and problem- solving skills are critical
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred Experience:

• OSHA 10
• Suspended scaffold or swing stage experience
• Carpentry, drywall, painting experience may be relevant
• Bilingual - Spanish speaking a plus!
